Tips

You should meet and select a multitude of service providers during the year leading up to your big day, and even 2 years ahead of the event. If the venue and the caterer are almost always booked first, looking for a hairstylist often comes last.

If you are getting married in the Summer, bookings should preferably be made a year in advance, and at the very latest in the Spring. For instance, in the Conciergerie Daniel Chavey, the reservation peak occurs between  February and May. But in any case, you will not find anyone if you leave it until the last minute.

If you’re getting married in Provence, around Aix-en-Provence for example, here are a few tips to help you find your wedding hairstylist on the net :

Google your “wedding hairstylist Aix-en-Provence”

Type “wedding hairstylist Aix-en-Provence” on Google and see which artists are best indexed on the web.

Upside : a good indexing often implies a good reputation. It is therefore a good indicator.

Downside : “good reputation” means “quickly booked up for the season”. Furthermore, this method  leaves out the artists who don’t have a website.

Go through the brides’ favourites blogs directories

Try blogs such as La mariée aux pieds nus or Queen for a Day.

Upside : a great selection

Down side : fully booked very quickly and slightly more expensive than average.

Read wedding blogs and join their networks

Upside : it is the best way to come across the most active service providers and discover their work.

Emilie Green is a good exemple. She is a talented hairstylist-makeup artist whom we love very much and who is all over wedding blogs. As a result, she gets booked up in no time, although she doesn’t have a website and only communicates via Facebook and Instagram. Which shows how important these platforms are. Forget about wedding directories.

Forget wedding directories

Upside : it facilitates your search

Downside : you will find everything and anything… so only to be used as a last resort.
